Peace Land Tours conducted a course in ticketing and hotel reservation through using GALILIO system. The Galileo International Electronic Ticketing product provides the capability to create flight coupons electronically, thus eliminating the need for physical paper tickets. With electronic ticketing, instead of a paper ticket being issued for a passenger when the ticket command is made by the travel agent, an Electronic Ticket Record (ETR) is created in the validating carrier's database. The passenger is then able to arrive at the airport, provide proof of identity and be issued with the appropriate boarding pass.

All electronic ticketing transactions require the exchange of data between Galileo system and the airline system. At time of ticketing a message is sent to the airline system requesting an electronic ticket. When the airline approves the request and the
electronic ticket is confirmed, the Galileo booking file is updated accordingly and an electronic ticket record is created on the airline's database. Generally, when an electronic ticket request fails, an option to revert to a paper ticket is offered.
   
This programme is to enable travel agents to make reservations using the Galileo system. In addition to basic reservations, attendees are taught how to use the system to provide auxiliary services such as meals, seats and cater to passengers special requests.
